In between the stormy wind and showers this week our team have been out collecting abandoned boats. The boats in question were rowing boats left on a public pontoon.

Next time you visit a marina, boatyard, canal or even just a harbour see how many boats you see that you think are end of life.

Eastney beach in Portsmouth is a regular destination for our team. Sadly it has become a local dumping ground for unwanted project boats.

At Boatbreakers, we were recently asked to answer some questions from Asia Pacific Boating Magazine for an article they are writing about boat disposal and end of life boats. Below is a copy of the questions and our answers.

At Boatbreakers we often get enquiries from American boat owners who are looking to dispose of their end of life vessel in a responsible manner.

End of Life Boats are a problem that won't just go away. During the last sixty years, the marine industry has been churning out increasing numbers of recreational and working craft, the majority being fibreglass (glass fibre reinforced polyester).

At Boatbreakers we always enjoy reading articles written about the subject of Boat Recycling. Recently we came across two articles on the NauticExpo e-magazine site that we found to be an interesting read.
