Super Saturday Success and Another Group Milestone

Super Saturday Success
The Boatbreakers team hosted our first Super Saturday event on October 10th. Our Boat Scrapyard group has also surpassed 12,000 members on Facebook. Due to the success of the first open morning the next Super Saturday will be November 7th.
Due to so many people asking us if we could be open at weekends we decided to trial being open on a Saturday. Like any event we weren’t sure if people would actually turn up. But after the success we had a the YouBoat Show we thought why not give it a go.

Trial Open Morning
With Tom joining the team on a more official basis he wanted to get some events going. He put the adverts on our Boat Scrapyard group and people seemed to be excited to come down. We did stress that it wasn’t a big event we were just trialling being open on a Saturday morning.
The joy of hosting our own open day was we didn’t have to move anything. With other shows or boat jumbles it takes days to pack up the stock ready. This time people could wander the shelves and browse what we have.
Warehouse In Gosport
Our team were pleasantly surprised with the number of people who had come to visit. So much so that we will again be open on Saturday November 7th. This is at our Gosport Warehouse, NOT the Scrapyard in Portsmouth!
Again it won’t be a special event it’s us simply being open on a Saturday morning. So if you can get down on a weekday we are open Mon-Fri. We always recommend calling ahead to make sure someone is in as we can often be out sorting boats.
Browse Boat Scrapyard
You can also browse the items we already have online by visiting our Boatscrapyard.com site. As anyone who has visited the warehouse will know we have lots more that is unlisted.
Special mention finally to all of our Boat Scrapyard group members. It has once again gone from strength to strength is rapidly approaching 13,000 members.

Luke completed a journalism degree in Brighton University and fortunately for us uses this in his communications, Facebook posts, Tweets and emails to tell all our enquirers and followers what we are up to. Without Luke we would be lost, he runs the office, keeps us organised and is like a terrier and never lets a tricky boat disposal job go un-photographed or Tweeted about.
He also manages all of our enquiries passing them to whoever in the team is the best suited to deal with it. We are teaching Luke how to drive a motorboat or sail a yacht so while he’s learning we suggest you keep out of the Solent!
When he’s not at work he’s a massive football fan (his Dad used to play for Portsmouth FC years ago) and seems to know everything there is to know about any player, anywhere. Next time you ring and he answers, think of a tricky football trivia question and ask him
