Anderson 22 Collected from Kent Farm
The Boat breakers team were in Kent on a farm to collect and end of life Anderson 22 Sailing Yacht for disposal. It had been stored on a farm and was essentially just a stripped out hull. Her owners wanted to finally get rid of the vessel and stop having to pay storage fees. It was quite clear to them that she was probably never seeing the water again. We are sure that the farmer would have been happy to see the back of the boat too.
Over the years we have dealt with a number of boats on farms. They are usually tucked away and collecting dust in barns or outbuildings. For the farmer it can be a nice little earner to use some space and charge storage. As long as the owners are trust worthy and keep paying. Otherwise the boat could be left to them to clear.
Stripped Out Hull
As the Anderson 22 was a stripped out hull there wasn’t much prep work that needed doing. A couple of holes were drilled in the hull to drain any rain water that had collected. Once on site the Hiab had no trouble setting up and loading the boat. Thankfully there was plenty of room for our truck to set up next to yacht. Which isn’t always the case and can cause some headaches during boat collections.
