Our team were contacted by a gentleman who had an old dinghy in his driveway. The dinghy was an Osprey Mk III. It had been on his drive for a number of years and had fallen into a state of disrepair. This is often the case for boats that have been left in peoples gardens. as they have been put there for the cheap storage solution, but they might not get the use they once did.

Dinghy in Bristol

This particular Osprey dinghy was in Bristol. Bristol is a couple of hours away from us on the south coast so not too far away for a collection. The trailer she was on was no good. We never take a chance with an old trailer when there is a significant drive home. The last thing we want to do is be dragging a boat or a broken trailer off of a busy motorway. So our plan was a simple one turn up in Bristol with our own trailer and load the whole lot on the top. The gentleman confirmed he would like the boats removed on the Wednesday and two days later we were there to take her away. There was even a small outboard on board which our team will break down into spares and hopefully sell to other boat owners.

Minimise Disruption to Property

We hope that the owner enjoys the new space found on his own driveway. Although it’s a simple thing to remove small boat from your property, it can open up the space you want had and maybe get your wife off your back. Small dinghies like this Osprey are very typical for the sorts of jobs we get asked to do all over the country. Thankfully this dinghy was on the front garden. But sometimes they can be buried in the back garden. Although the trailer wasn’t roadworthy it did have enough strength left for us to be able to tow it out onto the road for loading. We always aim to minimise any disruption and avoid any damage to the owners property. The last thing we want to do is give them a repair bill because we’ve tried to pull a boat and knocked something.

Scrap Form

If you have an old dinghy in your garden that no longer gets used for sailing and it’s just collecting moss. Then getting in contact with our team and we will work out the most cost-effective solution to have her removed. If there are some items on board that we think you could get some value back from, we will let you know. This way, you could potentially pay off most of the bill. Just fill in our scrap form on the website and our team will do the rest.
