Garden Boat Disposal in Surrey

The Boat breaking team were on the road again to remove an old boat hull from a garden in Surrey. The boat hull had been a long term project for the former owner of the house. Sadly it never got anywhere near the water and became a fixture in the family garden. After the owners passing the family now needed the hull removed before the house was sold.

Like all garden boat removal jobs the main issue is often access. More often than not the boat will have been in position for a long time and the garden would have grown up around it. Although this one was in a clear area it couldn’t be loaded in one piece as a number of trees had since grown to block the path.

Our plan was a fairly simple one. One of the team used our cutting equipment to slice the boat intro sections. Then once it was in pieces we walked them through the garden and into our truck at the front of the house. Thankfully there was no keel material which can always be a real headache to manhandle. We always aim to cause minimal disturbance to the garden we are working in.

Removing unfinished project boats from properties across the UK is something we have done regularly over the years. It’s always a shame to deal with the boats that never made it to the water. But we hope that the owners found plenty of pleasure in working on that dream. If you have an old boat in the garden that needs to be removed then get in contact. Our team are specialists in removing tricky vessels. Just fill in the contact form and we will work out the rest.

At Boatbreakers we always like the change of scenery of chopping up a boat on site as they usually mean visiting an interesting place where you wouldn't expect a boat to be. Often it will be a garden and we'll hear stories of how the owner has always planned to finish the project and go sailing but one thing led to another until we arrived with a disc cutter.
