Searider 25 Collection From Hill Head Sailing Club

Searider 25 Yacht Disposal
Our marine recycling and boat disposal team had a local collection for a Searider 25. The yacht was on a mooring near Titchfield Haven which is a popular bird watching reserve. This particular yacht was in the family for a number of years but had now gone past the point of economical repair. With the owner looking to step away from boating he asked us to arrange the disposal.
The collection plan was a simple as always. Her owner had the boat hauled out and mast down using the sailing clubs equipment. Then one of the team popped over to make sure that access was ok for our lorry. It seemed to us like there was plenty of room so we booked in our Hiab to load her. We anticipated that the Searider 25 would weigh around 2-3 tonnes. So we were always confident our Hiab would be able to lift.
1980s Boat
A Searider 25 wasn’t a boat that we had heard of before, so we asked AI to gives us som background. “The Searider 25, emerging in the 1980s, offered a distinct approach to leisure boating. Primarily designed as a sports cruiser, it prioritised spacious cockpit areas for social activities and relaxation.”
“Characterised by its relatively broad beam, the Searider 25 aimed to provide a comfortable platform for day cruising and short coastal trips. Its design often featured ample seating and lounging areas, catering to those seeking on-water recreation.
“While not typically considered a long-distance sailing yacht, the Searider 25 served as a popular choice for those prioritising social spaces and recreational activities on the water. Its design reflected the leisure boating trends of its era, emphasising comfort and sociability.”
Boat Disposal Form
We are sure it was a sad day for the owner of the yacht. But he can go on with the peace of mind that the boat isn’t going to be dumped or abandoned by another owner.
If you have an old yacht that you would like a responsible solution for, then get in contact. Just fill in the scrap calculator form and we will do the rest.
