Restoring a classic boat is a labour of love, but sometimes a single unfortunate accident can end the dream in an instant. That was recently the case near Guildford, where a damaged Dawncraft 25 reached the end of its journey after a trailering mishap brought restoration plans to a sudden halt.

While the owner was attempting to load the 25-foot canal cruiser onto a road trailer, the alignment went wrong. One of the trailer supports punctured directly up through the fibreglass hull, causing severe structural damage. Once safely secured onto the back of our truck, we hauled the boat away to our specialised facility for eco-friendly dismantling and materials recycling.
