Boat breaking in Scotland

Fin Keel Yacht Collected and Scrapped from Edinburgh
Our Boat breaking collection team were on the road to Scotland to remove a fin keel yacht. The boat was being stored in an Edinburgh marina. From the pictures we had been sent it was clear that she was in a state of disrepair and held no real value. Any effort and cost would far outweigh any potential resale value. This one was a simple decision to collect and bring back to our yard for disposal.
The old yacht was sat on her trailer which no longer had any wheels. However it was strong enough to be used as a cradle for transport on our flat trailer. Our team arranged with the owner to arrive at the yard and have the boat lifted on. She was then strapped down and made ready for the road.
No Real Value
Sadly with old boat like this there is very little chance of anything worth saving. Typically if a boat has sat in a yard for a long time, anything of any real value would have been removed. Either by the owner or people who take it upon themselves.
Her owner decided to have the boat collected and scrapped which instantly removed him from the storage charge trap. There is no point paying to store a boat that won’t sell or you don’t want to fix up. Even trying to give some of these boats away people are well aware of the costs to take on a boat. Storage is an instant charge people might often forget. It’s like an immediate sand timer draining funds from a new owner.
If you have an old boat just sitting in a yard gobbling up storage fees then get in contact. Our team will be happy to discuss how we can help you scrap your boat. Just fill in the scrap calculator form and we can get the ball rolling.
