Trintella 1a Yacht Collected for Disposal from Eastbourne

Trintella 1a Disposal
The Boat breakers marine recycling team were in Eastbourne to remove a Trintella 1a Yacht for disposal. The Trintella 1a, designed by the renowned E.G. van de Stadt and built by the Anne Wever shipyard in the Netherlands, is a classic sailing yacht known for its robust construction and charming aesthetics. Launched in the early 1960s, it combined a durable fiberglass (GRP) hull with a traditional wooden superstructure and teak deck, a blend that offers both strength and timeless appeal.
Measuring around 8.8 meters (29 feet) in length, the Trintella 1a is distinguished by its S-shaped hull, providing stable and comfortable sailing characteristics, even in challenging conditions. It typically features a masthead sloop rig and offers a functional interior with berths for up to four people, making it suitable for both coastal cruising and longer passages. Many Trintella 1a yachts are still cherished and actively sailed today, a testament to their quality and enduring design.
Well Worth the Trip
Her owner did remove some of the hazardous materials that we requested. But he also left a number of items for our team to salvage. Usually most owners will strip the boat clean and we get slim pickings. This one was well worth the trip down to Eastbourne to strip her. Especially in the boiling hot summer sun.
Among the items we’ve recovered are a Spray hood, and outboard engine, tiller-pilot, winches, anodes, sails and a full cooker. Our aim is to list these items on the Boat Scrapyard group and pass on a boating bargain for our members.
Saving Thousands in Storage
Because of her size the Trintella 1a was transported on a low loader lorry. The marina team at Sovereign Harbour were extremely helpful with moving the boat, dropping the mast and loading onto our lorry. Like many other her owner will be saving thousands in storage fees for a boat he was no longer using.
If you have an old yacht in marina that you no longer use then get in contact. Just fill in the contact form and our team will do the rest.
